APT Online Recap Events #3-#8

Running from 26th October to 17th November, and boasting $25 million in series prize pool guarantees, the Asian Poker Tour Online 2025 has seen a second weekend of thrilling poker action play out across the virtual felt, with 8 of the 20 Trophy Events now done and dusted with a further six new APT Online champions being crowned.

Record-Setting Trend Continues

The record-setting trend continued into the second weekend of the festival and beyond, with six of the eight Trophy Events to have played out so far having been record-breakers, with the Event #3: Thailand National Cup, the Event #6: Sunday Super Stack, and the Event #8: Mini Main Event $1M GTD following in the footsteps of the opening two Trophy Events and setting new field size, prize pool and first place prize records for the festival. 

While the Event #5: Vietnam National Cup [Bounty] did not draw it’s largest-ever field, its 2,553 entries generated the richest prize pool and first place prize this event has ever awarded, and with the Event #7: Bounty Hunters High Roller [2-Day Event] being a brand-new addition to the schedule, its 741 entries generated the third-richest prize pool of the festival so far with the tournament laying down a marker for the future.

Upcoming highlights in the next write up will include the PHP 5,000 (*$85.15) Event #9: Philippines National Cup [Deepstack Bounty] (PHP 10M / $170,307 GTD), which plays out on Tuesday, November 4 at 8pm (HKT), the $525 Event #10: King of the Jungle Bounty 6-Max ($300,000 GTD), which plays out on Thursday, November 6 at 8pm (HKT).

Other exciting tournaments scheduled to play out over the next week include:

  • Event #11: Korea National Cup (KRW 300M / $209,831 GTD), which comes with a KRW 300,000 (*$209.83) buy-in and plays out on Saturday, November 8 at 8pm (HKT).

  • Event #12: Turbo Ultra Stack ($200,000 GTD), which comes with a $125 buy-in and plays out on Sunday, November 9 at 9pm (HKT).

  • Then there is the $1,500 Event #13: APT Online High Roller [2-Day Event] ($500,000 GTD), which gets underway at 9pm (HKT) on Sunday, November 9 and concludes on Monday, November 10.

  • Last but by no means least, there is also the final day of the two-day $215 Event #14: Mystery Bounty Hunter - $100K Top Bounty [Day 2], which restarts at 9:05pm (HKT) on Sunday, November 9.

Event #3: Thailand National Cup

APT Online #3: Thailand National Cup

Playing out on Tuesday, October 28, the Event #3: Thailand National Cup saw close to a 4 percent (3.64%) increase in entries from the 2024 edition of the festival with players competing for over 10 percent (10.29%) more prize money.

An impressive 3,550 entries stumped up the THB 2,000 ($61.47) buy-in, with the THB 6,532,000 ($200,760) prize pool easily surpassing the THB 5,000,000 ($153,675) guarantee and the event set a new APT Online record for field size, prize pool and top prize for the tournament.

After just over nine and a half hours of play it was the Brazil-based “Vasco da Gama” who earned the accolades and their maiden APT Online Trophy Event title in addition to a THB 735,946.25 ($22,619.17) top prize—the largest this event has ever awarded—after overcoming “AltPokerKing” heads-up. 

The China-based “AltPokerKing” claimed THB 567,490.61 ($17,441.71) for their runner-up finish, with compatriot “pixiuge” rounding out the winner’s podium and earning a THB 437,595.06 ($13,449.40) pay day for third place, with a total of 510 players making the paying positions and the final table pay-outs as follows:

Event #4: Double Stack

APT Online 2025 Event #4: Double Stack

The arrival of Halloween on Friday, October 31 saw the $400 buy-in Event #4: Double Stack scare up a four-figure field, with an impressive 1,080 entries competing over close to eleven hours for a share of the $406,080 prize pool – a sizable 62 percent more than the tournaments $250,000 guarantee.

It was the Austria-based “Steve-Ohhh!” who managed to put the frighteners on heads-up opponent “Tom Middleton” to claim a $55,337.47 top prize, with their UK-based adversary banking $42,670.11 for their runner-up finish.

The Japan-based “Asunaholic” completed the third of the podium places, netting $32,903.14 for third place, with 150 players making the paying positions and the final table paying out as follows:

Event #5: Vietnam National Cup [Bounty]

APT Online #5: Vietnam National Cup [Bounty]Playing out on Saturday, November 1st, the VND 3M ($113.96) buy-in Event #5: Vietnam National Cup [Bounty] proved to be another record-breaker, with the tournament seeing a 35 percent (35.04%) increase in prize pool from the 2024 edition of the event. 

While the 2,553 field was not a record, that still stands at 3,385 entries when this event made its debut at the APT Online back in November 2023, the VND 7,046,280,000 ($267,600) prize pool generated set a new prize pool record for the tournament, easily surpassing the VND 5BN / $189,938 GTD. 

The action played out over close to nine hours, with players awarded a progressive bounty of at least VND 720,000 for each player eliminated and 288 players earning their place in the hallowed money spots.

It was “RSFB” who summited the peak of the tournament successfully, with the Hong Kong-based player claiming the largest first place prize this event has ever awarded, earning a VND 340,270,387 ($12,925.75) payday, plus an additional VND 422,707,032 ($16,057.25) in bounties after cutting a deal with APT regular “David Erquiaga” heads-up that saw the Filipino player bank VND 340,270,217 ($12,925.74) for his runner-up finish, plus a further VND 54,331,875 ($2,063.89) in bounties.   

The New Zealand-based “LargePoodle” completed the winner’s triumvirate, taking VND 270,377,957 ($10,270.77) for their third-place finish, plus a further VND 46,113,750 ($1,751.71) in bounties, with the final table paying out as follows:

Event #6: Sunday Super Stack

Just like its name suggests, the Event #6: Sunday Super Stack played out on Sunday, November 2 and, for the second year in a row, proved to be yet another record breaker with a massive 68 percent increase in entries and close to a hefty 40 percent (38.53%) increase in prize money over the 2024 edition of the tournament.

A total of 2,151 entries coughed up the $250 buy-in to set a new field size record for the event, which generated the richest prize pool the tournament has ever generated – a healthy $494,730.

The action played out over nine hours and forty minutes with the Japan-based “raylax” claiming the lion’s share and the trophy, earning a $59,898.79 top prize after overcoming the Cyprus-based “T Jozonis” heads-up, with the latter taking $46,187.24 for their runner-up finish.

It was another Japan-based player rounding out the top three, with “L JAHA” earning $35,615.23 for third place, with APT regulars Chih Wei Fan (209th for $532.39) and Joshua McCully (212th for $532.39) both making the paying positions alongside 300 players in total, with the final table paying out as follows:

Event #7: Bounty Hunters High Roller [2-Day Event]

The $1,050 buy-in Event #7: Bounty Hunters High Roller [2-Day Event] was a brand-new addition to the schedule, drawing 741 entries and generating a $741,000 prize pool—the third largest of the festival so far—to lay down a marker for future APT Online festivals. 

It was the Brazil-based “Arrascaneta1” who etched their name in the annals of APT Online history, claiming victory and a $45,200 top prize and an additional $56,614.77 in bounties after cutting a deal with “XIONGMAOWIN” heads-up, with the China-based player earning $45,199.47 plus an additional $ 6,710.94 in bounties for their runner-up finish. 

The Thailand-based “Haiyaaaaa” rounded out the podium, taking $35,915.41 for third place, plus a further $4,921.87 in bounties, with 84 players making the paying positions and the final table paying out as follows:

Event #8: Mini Main Event, $1M GTD

APT Online #8: Mini Main Event, $1M GTD [Final Day]By far the largest event of the festival so far, playing out from Sunday, October 26th to Sunday, November 2nd and boasting a sizable 36 Day 1 flights, the $100 Event #8: Mini Main Event $1M GTD was the last of the weekend’s record-breaking events to play down to a thrilling conclusion.

The tournament attracted a massive 15,150 total entries—a 26 percent increase in entries from the previous 2024 edition—generating the richest purse of the festival so far – a whopping $1,393,800 prize pool, a 26 percent increase in prize money from last year, beating the guarantee by an impressive 39 percent. 

Just 1,491 players returned for the final day, all guaranteed a payday of at least $201.18, with the action playing out over eight hours and forty minutes. It was the Cyprus-based “Cerealas” who claimed the second richest top prize of the festival so far, and the largest top prize this tournament has ever awarded, earning a pay day of $175,855.98 after defeating “AcceptTheResult” heads-up.

The Netherland’s based player had to accept the $135,479.12 on offer for second, with the Singapore-based “ViciBear” rounding out the top three and taking $104,468.93 for third place, with the final table paying out as follows:
