Daiki Shingae

Japan’s Daiki Shingae has the honour of leading the remaining 48 players into Day 3 of the APT Da Nang Main Event. This is a situation that Daiki will be familiar with, as he held the exact same position going into Day 3 of the APT Summer Series Hanoi Main Event. While he only managed 16th in that event, Daiki will be hoping to translate his big stack into a final table appearance this time.

Big Names Still In

However, if he’s going to do so, he’s going to face some stiff competition, as there are a number of big names still left in the field. Thailand’s Chumphon Naisanthat is second in chips behind Daiki and already has a 6th place in this series’ turbo event to his name.

We also have Gavin Flynn with a seven-figure chip stack, one of only seven players to break through that barrier on Day 2. Gavin already has four APT titles to his name and will be looking to add his second of this series after winning the Single Day High Roller event a few days ago.

Another player who has been having a fantastic tournament series is the Australian Joshua Mccully. He’s already taken down the Superstar Challenge event and the Single Day High Roller - 40M Bounty - Winner Takes All event and will be looking to score a Main Event title to round off the hat-trick. While he only has just over 500,000 chips, don’t be surprised if he makes the final table.

No matter who goes on to win, we’re guaranteed to have a new Main Event champ, as previous champions Michael Lindstrom, Hai Nam Hoang, and Vamerdino Magsakay were all eliminated on Day 2.

Natural8’s new ambassador Yu-Chung Chang also made it to Day 3, albeit with only 946,000 in chips. However, he’s still ranked in the top 10 of Day 2.
